Henschotermeer Lake: Woudenberg, Netherlands

Skim Spot Description: The 'Henschotermeer' is a man made lake in Holland, during World War Two, people dug here so they could make the 'Grebbeline', this was a defense line to keep away the Germans. Nowadays it's a recreation lake which can be busy during the summer and winter. In the winter it is completely frozen and people come here to skate.  Because it's man made, it's deepest point is only two meters, but on average, with it's four km. of white sand beach, it is a great spot to skim!  (submitted by Koenn Bouman)

When to ride: You can ride the Henschotermeer at Spring, Summer and Autumn, in the winter it is completely frozen. In the summer it can be busy, but when you go after five o'clock it's really calm. I highly recommend skimming here on a hot summer afternoon!
