San Isidro Beach

Skim Spot Description: Located 30 minutes away from San Carlos City, this place is ideal for skimboarding because of its fine sand and long stretch of flat open shore.

When to Ride: Low tide.

Mouth of the San Bernard River

Skim Spot Description: The skim spot is located at the mouth of the San Bernard River. Beach accessed by boat down the San Bernard River.  Although the same spot may not be there a few weeks or days later, there is always a new and almost identical spot created in the same general location. The spot is on the inside of the mouth so it's not effected by waves or current, just the tide.

When to Ride: Best to skim during high tide before noonish, but water slowly drains during low tide which never prevented us from skimming.

Judges Row: Qualicum Beach, BC

Skim Spot Description: You can basically ride this spot year round because when the tide goes out, it stays out for hours. http://www.visitparksvillequalicumbeach.com/cms.asp?wpID=267  (Link for the tide schedual)  This spot is my favourite in the area because its got nice sand, (not freakin soft, and not solid ground.) When the tide goes out it leaves some nice tidepools that are really fun to sesh. Bringing out some boxes and ramps makes for hours of good times. Another sweet feature about this beach is that not too many people know about so the tourists tend to stay away, this way its not crowded and you're waiting for people to move...This spot is also only a 5 minute walk to town and is really easy to get to.

When to Ride: Spring / Summer.  Low Tide below 0.0.

White Rock Beach: White Rock, BC

Skim Spot Description: White Rock consists of an eight kilometer sandy beach and the warm shallow waters of Semiahmoo Bay which is flanked on the south by the Canada/US border and Blaine, Washington. White Rock Beach is famous for its 1,500 ft. long pier, its 2.5km long beach promenade and of course the large white rock which weighs in at 486 tons and is a glacial deposit from the coastal range. Along the beach there is a long stretch of great Restaurants, Ice Cream shops, and Clothing stores. As far as where to park, there are timed meters along the street, or the gravel parking lot on the Indian Reserve by the Semiahmoo park is $6 all day. Best spot to skim is just across the railroad and right in front of the Parking Lot/Park.There's lots of variety from hundreds of tide pools, to skinny streams, to hitting some small waves at the waters edge. Features include the famous tire, many PBC rails/boxes/jumps witch people leave in the bushes, and pretty much anything else you can find. The sand is fine, and is softly compacted so it is decently forgiving. There's a vast amount of area to skim, so being crowded is never a problem. In the summer months its usually around mid 20's degrees, and White Rock gets more sun than all the surrounding cities. When the tide comes in head over to the pier for some pier jumping.  All around its a great spot, and I have been riding it my entire life.  (Submitted by Jordan Klimek)

Skim Spot Description:  Low tide, below 0.0.  Spring/Summer.
